Zayed City is a developed and distinguished extension of October City located in the west of Greater Cairo in Giza Governorate, and administratively affiliated with the New Urban Communities Authority.
It was established by presidential decree of 1995, with a grant from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development - Sheikh Zayed Grant -.
Zayed City is located about 20 km from Lebanon Square in the Mohandiseen District and 28 km from Tahrir Square in central Cairo. It is bordered by the Egypt-Alexandria Desert Road and the extension of the 26th of July Corridor and 6th of October City. The city is about 220 meters above sea level and has an area of about 9,500 acres.

Location
Zayed City is located west of Greater Cairo and is one of the most important, luxurious and distinguished cities in Giza Governorate. It is located about 20 km from Lebanon Square in the Mohandiseen District and 28 km from Tahrir Square in central Cairo.
It is located in the middle of three central and main roads west of Cairo, which are the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, the 26th of July road, and the Dahshur Connection. Its area is about 9,500 acres, in addition to the major developer companies’ efforts to develop the areas surrounding Zayed City and have already begun implementing a large number of distinguished residential projects in the Green Revolution, New Zayed, the Green Belt area, and the northern expansions.
Population
The population of Madinat Zayed is about 400 thousand people, and it is expected that the population will reach 700 thousand people when the city’s growth is complete. The population in Zayed City and the expansions around it is expected to reach one million and 800 thousand people.
Economy
Zayed City is one of the second-generation cities that relies on sustainability starting from its inception. Therefore, we find that most of the departments of large companies and factories are based in the city, as well as the presence of many universities, entertainment and service centers, and the concentration of the finest residential communities within the city, making it a center of attraction for the most important economic activities west of Cairo.
